Pupils who attend PACE are discussed, with parental consent, at PACE panel. It is the child's mainstream school who will refer to us usually after considerable outreach support through the Behaviour Improvement Team (BIT) has been tried.
Panel will usually consist of the Head of Provision for PACE, the BIT team, an LA representative and a Head Teacher from a St Helens primary school. This ensures absolute transparency and by using a strict criteria to prioritise referrals this provides fairness and equity to all schools who refer to us.
If a child is permanently excluded from their mainstream school it is highly likely PACE will offer to provide education for the child until the next long term provision is identified.
Our referral form for schools can be found below.
